Byron Bay Blues Festival wrap up

We love bringing our ‘Paint a Recycled Surfboard’ workshops to Music Festival’s. Nothing is better than parents catching their favourite set with the bonus of having something for the children to do during the downtime.

We were stoked to work alongside Kidzklub Australia and bring our workshop to the Children of Byron Bay Blues and Roots Festival 2024. With headliners such as Jack Johnson, Ben Harper, Jimmy Barns and Tom Jones, we would be crazy not to take this opportunity.

The weather threw everything at us—stinking hot one day, Pouring rain the next—but that did not dampen the vibe at this massive four-stage festival.

We ran 2 Two-hour workshops with Skateboards and Surfboards Saved from the Landfill for the children to get creative on. This provided a switch-off for the little punters’ who may be experiencing their first couple of festivals.

We raffled these items off for free to participants who scanned our QR code on the day, and the lucky winners were overjoyed, as you can see in these photos. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and creativity, and we can't wait to bring more of this energy to our future workshops.

All of the sets were unbelievable, and it was an excellent opportunity to check out some bands that I wasn’t too familiar with. I have to highlight one of the fantastic sets we got to see: the young gun Taj Farrant, who unbelievably played four sets across four days and captivated the crowd at each set.

Blues Fest was an amazing family experience for us, and I highly recommend this festival to anyone with a young family. Children under 5 were FREE and the environment and crowd were respectful and friendly.

We want to thank Blues Fest for having us, and we look forward to bringing more of these workshops to the community.

We have made it our mission to transform 300 landfill boards into works of art, and with your participation at the recent event, we have successfully saved 104 boards from the landfill. This is a significant step towards a more sustainable future, and we couldn't have done it without you.
