Getting Creative at Clearly Music and Arts Festival.

We absolutely love bringing our ‘Paint a Recycled Surfboard’ workshops to Music Festival’s. Is there anything better than live music, Festival fashion, Festival food & drinks and Hot Summer days?

Our goal with these types of events is to create a fun, safe space for the Punters, who may be needing a quiet area to reset and get creative. We couldn’t think of a better festival to do this at than the Clearly Music and Arts Festival.

The Clearly Festival is a unique event focused on wellness and community inclusion held in Kiama, NSW. This festival brings together communities from all walks of life to create awareness and celebration of Australia’s roots with a strong focus on cultural inclusivity.

With an incredible lineup of bands spread across three stages, such as Xavier Rudd, Skegss, Gretta Ray, Peter Garrett, Big Twisty, Ruby Fields, Hope D, Tyne James Organ and many more. This was a first of its kind in Kiama and very much needed. Trust me, the feedback was when will they do it again?

We were well equipped for the day with a 9ft log, a Nipper Board, Skateboards and a Twin fin which were all saved from landfill, and now thanks to Clearly Music Festival, have been turned into Art. We raffled these items off for free to participants who scanned our QR code on the day, and the lucky winners were stoked.

As an added bonus, we also gave one of our saved Surfboards to the organisers to get the artists to sign it. ‘From Landfill to Music Memorabilia’ thanks to everyone for supporting our initiative.

Clearly not only pulled all this off incredibly, but the day before the festival, they ran, Clearer Workshops. Their intention for these workshops was to deliver a range of opportunities for the next generation of creatives who have faced multiple challenges in their formative years, including bushfires, floods, and the COVID-19 pandemic. We spoke to a handful of creatives who attended, and they were all stoked about what they had learnt from this day, with a crowd favourite being Peter Garrett and his inside to the music industry and the host of the day, Barron Hanson.

We just wanted to say thanks again to Clearly Music Festival for having us, and we look forward to bringing more of these workshops to the community in the future.

We have made it our mission to transform 100 landfill boards into works of art. With the recent event, we have successfully saved 68 boards from landfill.
